Behind the Occhio company is Axel Meise, who as a designer and entrepreneur has been setting his own accents in the field of lighting design for more than two decades. Occhio depends on the power of the idea and the people who carry these ideas.
Light is evolution

Success is often the result of consistently questioning existing responses. It was the same with Axel Meise. In an architectural and design world that postulates a homogeneous and consistent design, in the early 1990s, in his work as a lighting designer, he asked about the aesthetic proliferation of different light sources and luminaires in private spaces and public. The reason for this was obvious: every situation in the room required a specific lighting solution, and at that time it could only be done with many different luminaires, since there was no lighting system integrated into the market. The idea of a “light tool” complete Axel Meise could not go. The first sketches for a modular lighting system that he brought to the paper in the mid-1990s. At the end of the 1990s, Occhio (Italian “eye”) was the essence of his former occupation of light. At the same time, this was the beginning of a continuous innovation process, which always produces new design and application solutions: light is evolution.
The design meets the technology. Axel Meise as a founder of a company and generator of ideas thinks about holistic systems and always has the user in mind. As a physicist, the design partner Christoph Kügler is technologically up-to-date and guarantees a perfect implementation down to the last detail.
